Porsche is a type of Societas Europaea, which is traded as FWB: PAH3. It is an automobile manufacturing industry, founded in the year 1931 in Stuttgart, in Germany. It was founded by Ferdinand Porsche and its headquarters is located in Stuttgart, in Baden-Wurttemberg, in Germany. It is serving across worldwide and its key people are Wolfgang Porsche who is the chairperson and Martin Winterkorn as Chief Executive Officer and President. Its products is mainly about automobiles. The production output is about 127793 units, and it serves in the field of engineering services and in automobile financial services. The total revenue in the year 2011 was 10928 million Euros, and operating income of 2045 million Euros in 2011. The owner of Porsche is Volkswagen AG and it employees to around 15307 people in the year 2012. It subsidiaries are such as Porsche AG, Porsche India, Porsche Zwischenholding GmbH.

Porsche Automobile Holding SE is usually made shorten to Porsche, which is a German Holding Company with its investments in the industry of automobile.

Through the 10 % of Qatar Investments Authority of Qatar Holdings, Porsche is wholly owned by the Porsche and Piech families. The voting rights of about 50.73 % is owned by Porsche in Volkswagen AG, and Porsche Zwischenholding GmbH of about 50.1 % that owns Dr. Ing H.C.F. Porsche AG’s 100 %, the maker of a range of Sports Utility Vehicles and sports cars.  

On the month of July in the year 2012, Volkswagen AG announced that its plan of taking over the automotive company Porsche completely that bears the name same, but it is only a Porsche SE’s subsidiary.

As Dr. Ing. H.C.F. Porsche GmbH, the company was founded by Ferdinand Porsche in Stuttgart in the year 1931, who was an Austrian engineer, in Maffersdorf he was born, during the Austro-Hungarian Empire time, and son in law of Porsche’s Anton Piech, who was an Austrian Lawyer.

Corporate structure

The owner of Dr. Ing. H.C.F. Porsche AG i.e. Porsche AG was Porsche SE, and on the month of June in the year 2007 it developed as a holding corporation for its stakes of about 50.1 % in Porsche Zwischenholding and 50.7 % of Volkswagen AG. Volkswagen AG and Porsche SE on the August Month in the year 2009 reached an agreement, which states that 2 companies would form as one in the year 2011, for forming an IAG i.e. Integrated Automotive Group. In the year 2009 on the December month, the Zwischenholding GmbH’s control was lost by Porsche SE that resulted in to the formation for new mutual business enterprise between Volkswagen AG and Porsche SE. As of 5th of July month in the year 2012, about 50.1 % of stake is about to take over by Volkswagen in capital of Porsche, which doesn’t already had control from Porsche SE’s holding company for about 4.46 billion Euros plus one share of Volkswagen.

The company Dr. Ing. H.C.F. Porsche AG which was founded by Ferdinand Porsche, is the one responsible for the actual manufacture and production of the automobile line of Porsche. Presently the company manufactures Cayman , Boxster , and Porsche 911 sports car, 4 door Panamera, and the Sport Utility Vehicle Cayman.

History of Porsche

In the year 1931 the company Dr. Ing. H.C.F. Porsche GmbH was founded by Ferdinand Porsche, with major offices in the Stuttgart’s centre at KronenstraBe 24. At the starting, the company offered consulting and development work of motor vehicle, but didn’t constructed any cars below their own brand name. The new company’s one of the very 1stassignments was from government of German to design a people’s car that is the company Volkswagen. This lead to the development of the model Volkswagen Beetle, which was one of the successful most designs of car of all the time. ·         On the 31st of July month till the year 2004 ending, the total revenue was about 6148 million Euros, 1137 million Euros of Pre-tax profit, 81531 units of overall production, and 76827 units of total sales.

·         On the 31st of July month till the year 2005 ending, the total revenue was about 6574 million Euros, 1238 million Euros of Pre-tax profit, 90954 units of overall production, and 88379 units of total sales.

·         On the 31st of July month till the year 2006 ending, the total revenue was about 7273 million Euros, 2110 million Euros of Pre-tax profit, 102602 units of overall production, and 96794 units of total sales. 

·         On the 31st of July month till the year 2007 ending, the total revenue was about 7368 million Euros, 5857 million Euros of Pre-tax profit, 101884 units of overall production, and 97515 units of total sales.

·         On the 31st of July month till the year 2008 ending, the total revenue was about 7466 million Euros, 8569 million Euros of Pre-tax profit, 105162 units of overall production, and 98652 units of total sales.

·         On the 31st of July month till the year 2009 ending, it was about -2559 million Euros of Pre-tax profit, 76739 units of overall production, and 75238 units of total sales.

·         On the 31st of July month till the year 2010 ending, the total revenue was about 7.79 billion Euros, 89123 units of overall production, and 81850 units of total sales.

·         On the 31st of December month till the year 2010 ending, the total revenue was about 9.23 billion Euros, 1670 million Euros of Pre-tax profit, and 97273 units of total sales.

·         On the 31st of December month till the year 2011 ending, the total revenue was of about 10.92 million Euros, 2045 million Euros of Pre-tax profit, 127793 units of overall production, and 118867 units of total sales.        

Split of production

Of the cars about 105162 manufactured in the financial year 2007/2008, 32.6 % i.e. 34303 were models of 911, 21.3 % i.e. 22356 were Cayman and Boxster, and 46.1 % i.e. 48497 were Cayennes. There were three models of Carrera Grand Tourer and 3 models of Panamera have also been reported. The figures of production of sporting cars was relatively to the totals of 2001/2002 when Porsche 911 and Boxsters were manufactured and produced to about 33061, and 21989 units of vehicles respectively.

Sales of Porsche

Porsche reported in the year 2008 that it sold about 98652 cars, in which 13.7 % i.e. 13,524 units of vehicle as domestic, and 86.3 % i.e. 85128 units internationally.

Sales of North America

·         2003 and 2004 financial year’s annual sales

The model 911 i.e. 996 had a sale of about a decrease of 18 % i.e. 9935 units in the year 2003 out of total 33 % sale, an increase of 3 % of sales i.e. 10227 units in the year 2004 out of 31%, an increase of 4 % i.e. 10653 in the year 2005 of total 31 % sale.

The model Boxter had a sale of about 38 % decrease i.e. 6432 units in the year 2003 out of total 38 % sale, decrease of 42 % i.e. 3728 units in the year 2004 out of 11%, an increase in sale of 123 % i.e. 8327 in the year 2005 of total 25 % sale. 

The model Cayenne had a sale of about 9935 units in the year 2003 out of total 45 % sale, 19134 units i.e. an increase of 40 % in the year 2004 out of 57 %, 14524 units i.e. decrease of 24 % in the year 2005 of total 43 %.

A total of about 36059 units i.e. an increase of7 % in sales including all models in the year 2006, 36680 units i.e. 2 % increase in the year 2007, and 27717 units i.e.a decrease by 24 % in the year 2008.

·         2006 and 2008 financial year’s annual sales

The model 911 i.e. 999 had a sale of about an increase of 19 % i.e. 12702 units in the year 2006 out of total 35 %, an increase of 4 % of sales i.e. 13135 units in the year 2007 out of 36 % of total sale, decrease of 37 % i.e. 8324 in the year 2008 of total 30 %.    

The model Boxter had a sale of about decrease of 42 % i.e. 4850 units in the year 2006 out of total 14 % sale, decrease of 24 % of sales i.e. 3904 units in the year 2007 out of 11 % of total, decrease of 24 % i.e. 2982 in the year 2008 of total 11 %.

The model Cayman had a sale of about 7313 units in the year 2006 out of total 20 % sale, decrease of 17 % of sales i.e. 6249 units in the year 2007 out of 17 % of total sale, decrease of 44 % i.e. 3513 in the year 2008 of total 13 %.

The model Cayenne had a sale of about decrease of 23 % i.e. 11411 units in the year 2006 out of total 23 % sale, an increase of 20 % of sales i.e. 13370 units in the year 2007 out of 36 % of total sale, decrease of 4 % i.e. 12898 in the year 2008 of total 46 % sale.   

A total of 30028 units i.e. 33 % increase in sales including all models in the year 2003, 33289 units i.e. 11 % increase in the year 2004, and 33859 units i.e. an increase of 2 % in the year 2005.

·         2009 and 2011 financial year’s annual sales

The model 911 i.e. 999 had a sale of about a decrease of 17.8 % i.e. 6839 units in the year 2009 out of total 35.00 % sale, a decrease of 16.1 % of sales i.e. 5735 units in the year 2010 out of 22.65 % of total sale, an increase by 5.0 % i.e. 6016 in the year 2011 of total 20.72 %.

The models Cayman and Boxster had a sale of about a decrease by 39.4 % i.e. 3875 units in the year 2009 out of total 19.00 %, a decrease by 9.3 % of sales i.e. 3499 units in the year 2010 out of 13.84 % of total sale, decrease of 9.02 % i.e. 3150 in the year 2011 of total 10.86 % sale.

The model Panamera had a sale of about 1247 units in the year 2009 out of total 6.33 %, an increase of 520.8 % of sales i.e. 7741 units in the year 2010 out of 30.57 % of total sale, a decrease by11.13 % i.e. 6879 in the year 2011 of total 23.70 %.

The model Cayenne had a sale of about a decrease by 31.0 % i.e. 7735 units in the year 2009 out of total 31.0 % sale, an increase by7.9 % of sales i.e. 8343 units in the year 2010 out of 32.94 % of total sale, an increase by55.55 % i.e. 12978 in the year 2011 of total 44.72 % sale.

A total of about 19696 units i.e. 24.3 % decrease in sales including all models in the year 2009, 25320 units i.e. 28.6 % increase in the year 20010, and 29023 units i.e. an increase by 15 % in the year 2011.

Models of Porsche

The present model range of Porsche includes the Boxster roadster’s sports cars to their most celebrated product, the variant 911. On the other hand Cayman is a hardtop vehicle, which is quite similar to the variant Boxster. The model Cayenne is a luxury mid-size sport utility vehicle of Porsche. A performance high luxury sedan/saloon, the model Panamera was unveiled in the year 2009.

Reputation of Porsche
