Renault Dokker Preview

The French automaker Renault is well versed with the art of re-badging cars. We already have several such examples from its alliance partner Nissan and also the from Renault’s Romanian subsidiary, Dacia in the form of Renault Duster. Automobile Dacia Company came into being in the 1966 under the name Uzina de Autoturisme Pitesti (UAP.) The Romanian company was named after the historic region that constitutes much of the present-day Romania. It is now a 100 per cent subsidiary of the French car maker Renault and is the main exporter from Romania with 10 per cent of total exports.

Renault Dokker Exterior

The car has got elegant design and the exterior looks quite attractive and unique with its gracious curves and flow lines. Company has tried to keep the overall design simple and realistic but with the evolving design. It gets a sleek headlight cluster upfront merging with the two-slat black grille. There is an extensive use of black cladding, adorning the lower profile of the car, giving it a rugged look. Towards the lower end of the bumper, there is a wide air dam with the fog lamp housings on either side of it. Coming to its side profile, the company has designed it with sliding door which lends it an appealing look. Moving to the rear, the roof-mounted spoiler, split doors and vertically stacked LED tail-light add to the visual appeal. This MPV will come with an overall length of 4363mm, overall width of 2004mm, wheelbase of 2810mm and a maximum ground clearance of 186mm.

Renault Dokker Mileage

The real world mileage of Renault Dokker is not known but it is expected to be quite competitive.

Renault Dokker Braking and Safety

Brakes have a good feel and stopping power is strong enough to bring this large vehicle to a halt without a fuss. In terms of safety,Renault Dokkermight come loaded with some vital aspects that will offer maximum protection to its occupants, it might come incorporated with front airbags, side airbags, knee airbags, ABS, EBD and ESC etc.

Renault Dokker Performance and Handling

Renault has always found a good balance of ride and handling for its cars and the Dokker might not be different. The car may also get a hydraulic power assisted steering system that will provide good response even in heavy traffic conditions. Though there might be a bit of body roll due to the design of the vehicle and high-speed cornering is something you wouldn’t do with it. A high ground clearance means you go over most of the imperfections on our roads without having to slow down much. The suspension setup includes McPherson struts at the front and coupled torsion beam at the rear.Like other models from the company, it will also get an efficient suspension mechanism, which keeps it well balanced and stable at all times.

What do we think about Renault Dokker?

Multi-utility, comfort and loads of boot space are what that puts Renault Dokker ahead in the line. It will appeal to those looking for a 5-seater practical MUV with plenty of boot space.

Renault Dokker Competitors

It is no surprise then, that the French automaker is thinking hard about getting the Dacia Dokker MPV into the Indian market as the Renault Dokker, to rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Nissan Evalia and the Honda Mobilio MPV.
