What does AWD means in Renault Duster AWD?
By: Sanchit on 20 july 2014
Generally the engine under the hood of a car powers front two or rear two wheels but ib the case of Renault Duster AWD the scenerio is totally different. AWD is nothing but a drivetrain which engages all front, rear and center differential to provide power to all four wheels of a vehicle. Generally this property of the vehicle is not required, the usage occurs when we take this vehicle to offroads. During our drive we didn't feel that this car can stuck anywhere anytime. But on the otherhand a bit of body roll is felt, which is guess is pretty much obvious with tall cars like this.

As Sonal mentioned the AWD version of the Renault Duster is meant for enthusiast who want a single car for their daily use and for some off-roading purpose. AWD basically means all wheel drive or in a simpler sense it means 4x4. The engine generally powers the front wheels or the rear wheels at once but in the case of Duster 4x4 all of the 4 wheels are working at once. The 4x4 feature make car more tradable anywhere on roads as well as offroads.
