Should I buy diesel or the petrol variant of Duster, my daily running is 15-20 kms?

In my opinion you should buy petrol model of Duster, though diesel model delivers better mileage but for your requirement that doesn’t make sense as your monthly running kms is only 500-600 kms, so the money you would save on mileage would be only Rs. 1000-1500 per month and around Rs. 15,000 in year and it would not cover the extra amount (around Rs. 1 lakh) you would pay on purchasing diesel model of Duster for the next 4-5 years and if we add the interest on extra amount the covering period would be even longer. No doubt technology of modern diesel cars has vastly improved and required lesser maintenance than the older ones but still the servicing and spare parts cost of diesel cars is generally higher than petrol ones. Right from the cost of oil replacement to the battery and clutch plate, etc. all cost more in case of diesel cars.
