Is Tata Tiago a better vehicle than Renault Kwid? If I choose Tiago over Kwid, which variant should I pick between diesel and petrol since my driving is around 2000kms a month.

Though falling in a similar price range and having similar features, Tata Tiago offers a 1199cc engine in petrol and a 1047cc diesel engine. Since we are comparing it with the Kwid, let’s take the petrol variant into consideration. The mileage of Kwid 799cc petrol engine is definitely higher than Tiago but the power output of Tata hatchback is 84bhp at 6000rpm whereas Kwid produces only 53.3bhp at 5678rpm. In terms of features though, both the cars are at par and it’s more of a subjective choice.
Coming to maintenance, Tata cars are easier to maintain and also can be repaired at lower costs as compared to a Renault car. The service network of Renault isn’t as wide spread as Tata.
Finally, since you have a lot of running in a month, you should opt for a diesel car which will help deliver a higher mileage as compared to petrol. Though the car will require more maintenance but overall it will work out to be a better deal for you in the longer run.
