I was only some yards from my car then a thief jumped into my car a drive it away, I want to ask, ifI have the keyless ignition key in my pocket and the same thing were to happen could the thief drive away, or would it cut out after a short distance?

It depends on the signal proximity of the keyless ignition that from how far it allows you to start or off the car and usually one press doesn’t turn off the car engine as most of the cars ask for confirmation and if you had pressed button again within certain timeframe and signal proximity, in my opinion the car’s engine would have shut down and you could save your car from theft.
