Tata Hexa XE 4x2 Description
The new Tata Hexa XE 7 Seater looks extremely beautiful, and the proportions give the car a very balanced and yet a sporty stance. The projector headlamps, front grill and stylish bonnet lend character to the car. The big air dams house daytime running lamps and fog lamps. The side reveals new 19-inch wheels, which have a nice design. The body cladding runs across the length of the car and gives it a strong pose. The only things that don’t please at the rear are the hockey-stick shaped lights that are fitted on the bumper.
The car gets a large touch-screen infotainment system, which is integrated very well in the dashboard. Overall, the fit and finish inside the Hexa XE XE 7 Seater are definitely a step-up from the versions that came before it, making the cabin a nice place to be in. The 6-speaker JBL audio system is a pleasure to hear and the 5” touchscreen display offers good touch quality. The equipment list also consists of features like air conditioner, 12 V power outlets on all three rows, front and rear power windows, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, follow-me headlamps, etc. The instrument cluster is clean and easy to read and consists of tachometer, speedometer, odometer, trip meter, clock, etc.
The Hexa XE is powered by a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder VARICOR diesel engine, which develops peak power of 148 bhp and peak torque of 320 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The ARAI-claimed mileage of Hexa XE is 14.4 kmpl as per ARAI claim.
Braking responsibilities are handled by disc brakes on all four corners. ABS and EBD are standard, and other safety and security features are airbags (driver and co-driver), engine immobilizer, remote central locking, speed sensing door lock, child safety lock, etc.
It comes with different driving modes – auto, comfort, dynamic and rough road, which alter the steering, throttle and transmission parameters. The ride quality on the Hexa XE 7 Seater is pretty good and it absorbs bumps with fair ease.
