Tata Hexa XMA 4x2 Description
The well-proportioned overall profile of the new Tata Hexa AT 7 seater, along with the tasteful styling, attracts attention. The stylish front bumper comes fitted with attractive daytime-running LED lights and the front grille connects the headlamps in a very elegant fashion. The side profile flaunts alloy wheels, which look classy, while the rear profile comprises of wraparound LED tail lamps, integrated spoiler and adorned tailgate.
Speaking of interiors, the 5” touchscreen infotainment system is very bright and responsive, with easy-to-navigate menus. Other features of the infotainment include USB, AUX, Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, on-screen SMS display, SMS readout, voice recognition and rearview camera display with guidelines. The equipment list also consists of features like air conditioner, 12 V power outlets on all three rows, front and rear power windows, parking sensors, rear defogger, rear wiper, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, follow-me headlamps, etc. to mention a few. The instrument cluster houses a nice resolution display and shows the usual information such as trip meter, tachometer, average speed, distance to empty, instantaneous fuel consumption, low fuel warning, clock, gear indicator, etc.
The Hexa XE is powered by a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder VARICOR diesel engine, which develops a peak power of 156PS@4000rpm and peak torque of 400Nm@1700-2700rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Talking about the mileage, the SUV delivers around 17.6 kmpl on the highways and around 14kmpl in the city boulevards.
Safety features like ABS and EBD are standard, and this variant is also featured with hill hold control and hill descent control, two airbags (driver and co-driver), engine immobilizer, remote central locking, speed sensing door lock, child safety lock, etc. Braking responsibilities are handled by disc brakes on all four corners.
The Hexa XMA AT 7 seater has a really good ride quality and the suspension managed to absorb most bumps very well. The Hexa XMA AT steering is feather-light at city speeds and starts weighing up nicely on the highways.
Tata Hexa XMA 4x2 Verdict
The Hexa XMA AT shows improvements in several areas; it looks fresher, the interior is better, there is more equipment on offer and the car is much nicer to drive.
