Tata Indica Vista Electric
Tata Indica Vista Electric PreviewThe Indica Vista is in the Indian car market since more than a decade, and has gained confidence of the customer with its long-lasting performance and strong build quality. The electric concept of this car was unveiled at the Thailand International Expo in 2010. The utility of Indica Vista with its spacious interiors and the electric motor as an alternative for the engine is aimed at developing a full-fledged non-polluting family hatchback. The exterior design would be the same as present generation Indica Vista with triple barrel headlamps, clear lens headlamps, radiator grille with Tata logo at the centre, and body-coloured bumpers and outer rear view mirrors. The tail lamp design would be at par with the existing Indica Vista model. The interior fit and finish will have dual-tone interior colour scheme, full fabric seats, and storage pockets in the front and rear doors. Additionally, the instrument cluster would be updated with the advanced infotainment system, giving the status of key parameters of the car, such as battery level, maximum possible distance coverage, satellite navigation system and integrated music system. The steering system will be power assisted, offering easy driving in all road conditions. The steel wheels with tubeless tires and wheel cover will be featured in this model. The suspension system will feature McPherson struts with semi-independent coils for better comfort of the occupants. The absence of engine and transmission system could mean no pollution and noiseless operation of the car. Also, the kerb weight of the car would be reduced to a large extent and hence lesser load on the motor. The overall impact would be on reducing power consumption and long range driveability of the car.
Expected Engine and TransmissionThe Tata Indica Vista Electric will feature a super polymer lithium ion battery that can propel the car for a 200 km range. It will be the first product from the collaboration of Tata Motors European Technical Training Centre and Mijo Greenland/Innovation of Norway. The power output of 55 KW and maximum torque of 160 Nm can be expected from the motor, and the drive would be connected to the front wheels.
Expected MileageThe Tata Indica Vista Electric mileage could range for around 200 km per complete charge. The battery charging system, enhanced with the regenerative brake system, would keep the charge for a long time. The new generation emergency battery charging system can also be featured in this model. Tata Motors is also expected to come up with exclusive battery charging outlets and the widespread Tata Motors service centres spread across the country would be a huge advantage.
Expected PriceThe Indica Vista Electric price range can be expected between Rs. 4 to 5 Lakh (Ex-Showroom, New Delhi).
