Which one to choose between used Tata Nano and Maruti 800?
By: Vedvyas on 17 october 2014
Tata Nano features 624 cc two cylinder engine delivering power of 38PS and Maruti Suzuki 800 has 800 cc engine delivering power of 36PS. Though power is almost similar, there is high difference between both in terms of interior space and performance. Maruti 800 is very well proven with great reliability. Further Maruti 800 has seperate luggage space and also has better performance with respect mileage and long term maintenance. Considering overa all factors, Maruti 800 would be better selection.

The Maruti 800 has been a mainstay of the Indian hatchback market for a long period of time. But the Tata Nano has provided stiff competition, thanks mainly to the absurdly reasonable price at which it has been offered to the masses. From a purely technical point of view, the 800 manages to outclass the Nano almost in every department. But it should not be forgotten that the Nano’s primary aim was to be a car that everybody could buy. And from an economic perspective, it makes much more sense.
Yes, this is true that Tata Nano should only be considered if you want to keep costs minimum. But you are looking for more pleasurable driving experience and more comfort then choose Hyundai Eon. This car is slightly more premium in looks, built and material quality. The cabin space, acceleration, fuel tank capcity is much better than Tata Nano. Also it has better safety features than Tata Nano which is a great plus point.
Tata Nano is common public's car no doubt in that. The convntional Maruti 800 is also very common. But the newness and agility which Nano has is missing in Maruti 800. Interior space wise Maruti is better and also the technical features of Maruti 800 are better than of Nano. Cost is the biggest issue in Indian buyers. Hence for affordability thing nothing can be better than this Nano.
