Ganesh's review on Tata Sumo Gold EX BS III
Year of Manufacture : 2009 | Driven no. of Kms. : 150000
- Pros: Engine power, space and ride quality
- Cons: Interior looks and maintenance cost.
I have a taxi business in Tamil Nadu. I bought 10 Tata Sumos in 2009. By far they are serving me well and good. Even after five years and running 1,50,000 km each approx. I am not thinking of selling them as they are as good as new. No doubt they need maintenance, I have them checked up on monthly basis. But a simple routine checkup like oil changing, gearbox, wheel alignment, all fluids, brakes, clutch plates. And believe me the better you care the better they serve. Ride quality is still smooth, the gear shifting is not that hectic. Space is the best point of these cars. The only thing Tata cars lack is after sales service. In the hilly roads there were some breakdowns the road side assistance was very poor. Tata should improve a lot on this point. Apart from these and some improvement in the interiors of the car like nice classy panels, steering mounted controls, third row AC vent, the car is good for both family and taxi uses
