Is the Tata Tiago's trimmed down 1.2L, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine practically efficient and powerful? Is it reliable like its competitor Maruti?

The down-sized 1.2L, 3-cylinder Revotron engine develops 84bhp of top power and 114Nm of peak torque. However, it is a bit noisy but fuel efficient. The noise also is not annoying. Compared to the 4-cylinder motor, it is a better performer and responds too well. Though, the reworked 3-cylinder mill is not a spontaneous perfomer as one has to work around to extract the best out of it. As far as reliablity is concerned, well, it can only be judged once it gets a bit older, say upto half a year if not more.

When I accelerate, some abnormal noise comes from my new Tata Tiago which has covered just 300 kms, brakes also get jammed for few seconds. It delivers me a mileage of only 14 kmpl. Is there any manufacturing defect?
