I am planning to buy a Tata Tiago but I hear that the Tiago Aktiv crossover is around the corner. Should I wait for it or get the Tiago hatchback? Also, can a Tiago be converted to a Aktiv by addition of accessories etc.?

Tata Tiago Aktiv is a crossover whereas Tiago is a hatchback. So first and foremost you need to decide what your requirement is and whether you want a crossover or a hatchback. Also, you can’t convert a hatchback to a crossover in the outside market that easily. It will cost you a lot of money and unnecessary hassle. Always remember that a company made car will always be better than a modification done from the outside market.
The Aktiv is expected to be powered with a 1.2litre petrol and 1.0litre diesel engine which it will borrow from the Tiago. In my opinion, for a crossover these engines are average but for in a hatchback, the performance of these engines will be better.
The price factor will also play an important role in this decision. Aktiv is expected to be priced slightly higher than Tiago but it will definitely be the cheapest crossover in the segment.
Therefore, depending on your requirement, you should decide whether you want to wait or not.
