The top speed of Tata Tiago diesel engine is 150 kmph. If you want to know the exact calculations as to which car would be better for you in the long run then you need to provide the number of kilometres your vehicle will run each month. As per general calculations if you travel more than 1500 kilometres a month taking into account your yearly travel plans etc. then you need to go in for the diesel variant as its mileage is around 27.28 kmpl whereas the petrol variant gives a mileage of 23.84kmpl. The difference between the same variants equipped with a petrol and diesel engine is about Rs. 65,000 which will get refunded to you within the first three years of running on diesel fuel. Diesel cars are more expensive to buy and maintain but they save you money in terms of running whereas petrol cars might be cheaper in comparison but the fuel costs are higher. Therefore, if you calculate then overall you would see that in a period of 3-5 years on an average you would have recovered the difference in the cost. All the calculations are based on the fact that you travel more than 1500 kilometers every month. If you know that your monthly running is less than 1500 kilometers a month then you should definitely go in for the petrol variant of this car as that would be more economical in every way.

When I accelerate, some abnormal noise comes from my new Tata Tiago which has covered just 300 kms, brakes also get jammed for few seconds. It delivers me a mileage of only 14 kmpl. Is there any manufacturing defect?
