Both the Tiago and Celerio are available in petrol and diesel engine options but Celerio is also available in CNG, Tiago is powered by 1.05 liter diesel and 1.2 liter petrol engine while Celerio comes with 0.8 liter diesel and 1 liter petrol engine, if we compare their power figures Tiago has a huge lead over Celerio, Tiago’s diesel and petrol engines produces maximum power of 69 bhp and 84 bhp respectively compare to Celerio’s 47 bhp and 67 bhp respectively and the CNG model of Celerio has maximum power of 59 bhp.
Tata Tiago petrol & diesel variants claimed to return mileage of 23.8 and 27.2 kmpl respectively while on other hand Celerio’s petrol & diesel variants claims to return 23.1 and 27.6 kmpl respectively and the mileage of CNG variant is 31.7 kmpl.
Tiago is also lengthier and wider than Celerio, ground clearance of both cars is same, despite being more powerful and more feature rich, Tiago comes at much less price than Celerio, ex-showroom Delhi price of Tiago ranges between 3.2 lakh – 5.6 lakh while of Celerio is between 4.0 lakh – 5.9 lakhs.
In my opinion with more powerful engines, less price Tiago (Diesel) is surely a better value for money than Celerio CNG, it also has a beautiful design and well built body and better interior fit, finish and quality as compared to Celerio.

When I accelerate, some abnormal noise comes from my new Tata Tiago which has covered just 300 kms, brakes also get jammed for few seconds. It delivers me a mileage of only 14 kmpl. Is there any manufacturing defect?
