Saugata Dasgupta's review on Tata Tiago Revotron XT
Year of Manufacture : 2016 | Driven no. of Kms. : 1484
- Pros: The gestation period of Tiago at the Tata stable over the preceding years was a veritable spiel for all trueblue car cognoscenti to go gaga over its launch way back in April 2016 and with a prudent sense of awe and marvel this reviewer had hopped into its sanctum for a testdrive in Kolkata only to get befuddled in the truest sense of the term for this saloon of the formidable international standard perpetually proved its haughtiness by simply allowing this soul at the wheel to discover some esoteric secrets. The car just slithered across the road without any trepidation which any car worth its salt in this segment surely might have had its share of burps. Every section of the car just spelt class being bolstered by the new faith Tata had so generously reposed upon its architects which really had been a long overdue since the days of Indica and Indigo. The strudy physique so finely crafted by the invincible iron sheet from the home mine of Tata and the new kid on the block Revotron engine simply cast a spell and the Harman Connectnext Infotainment provided a free ticket to the Opera House of Vienna to partake of a slice of soprano by Mozart. So without batting an eyelid I had booked this car and soon after owning this piece of art I realised what Tiago actually had meant for all of us living in India because its sui generis heavily relied upon calibrating a hassle free driving experience on ubiquitous Indian roads and fuel economy and on both those accounts Tiago has been spot on. Bravo Tata you truly have come of age with a product that really can DELIVER.
- Cons: There is nothing as such to whine about. Basically the car has come clean on its slate and the only qualm I personally have is against the antedeluvian door knobs that seem to jut out not in tandem with the International stature of Tiago. Otherwise, the car ought to be the cynosure for all car aficionados.
Tiago is a class apart and very effortlessly can enable Tata to stand in a good stead - no matter how horribly things had gone wrong for this indigenous car-giant for churning its fleet of jolopies out like Indica or Indigo down the years.
