What is the limited slip differential in Tata Xenon XT?
By: Utpal on 30 january 2015
The limited slip differential technique is a new technology implied by Tata in their latest pickup truck which is more useful while off roading or driving in mud or heavy snow. This technology allows the rear wheels of the car to move independently despite being driven by a single differential. While turning in slippery areas the outer flange has more distance to cover and due to high power transmitted the wheel slips which can now be controlled by the limited slip differential thereby increasing the control of the car and reducing the handling efforts. But in the daily life and on normal roads the technology is not that useful.
Tata Xenon XT comes with the latest limited slip differential technique. This is quite useful for off-roading, driving in heavy snow and mud. With the help of this technology, the car’s rear wheels move independently, even when they are driven by single differential. When, the vehicle turns on slippery areas, the wheel can be controlled easily. This reduces the handling efforts, and increases the control on the car.
