Tata Zest comes with 1193 cc petrol engine delivering power of 90PS and Torque of 140Nm. Diesel version Quadrajet 1248 cc delivers power of 7S PS and Torque of 190NM. Quadrajet 90PS version delivers power of 90PS and Torque of 200Nm.ARAI claimed mileage for petrol version is 17.6kmpl, for diesel 75PS version 23kmpl. Mileage claimed are in standard conditions. In practice you can expect around 15kmpl in city driving conditions and can reach upto 17kmpl in smooth road conditions such as highway.
ARAI claimed mileage for petrol variant of tata zest is 17.6 Kmpl. Thanks to the turbocharged revotron engine, in real world conditions zest churns out an impressive mileage of 15 Kmpl in city and around 17 Kmpl on highways. Further, engine mileage shall also vary as per mode of operation (i.e. city, eco and power) most frequently used . Of course the actual mileage given by a particular car depends on driving habits of the main driver and maintenance that is given on regular interval
It's fair enough to say that one needs the urge to be relieved of mileage insecurities. The Tata Zest comes in a wide range of variants. Some of them are the Tata Zest XT, the Tata Zest XMA, the Tata Zest XTA, etc. As for the XT variant, which is the petrol version of the Tata Zest, it offers a fuel tank capacity of 44 litres. In other words, this car provides a decent approximate mileage of 17.6kmpl. Be it in busy cities or in highways, this ride is sure to go the extra mile and do wonders every time.
The Tata Zest has a displacement capacity of 1193cc with 4-cylinders and 16-valves, which take delivery of fuel through multi point injection system. This petrol engine has paired with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. The vehicle is good in terms of engine capacity and efficiency but the fuel economy is having some issues, The company claims to have a mileage of 17 on petrol and 23 on diesel but the same is not true in real situations. The zest is having a mileage of 13 Kmpl in the city and 15 Kmpl on highways.
I am not agreeing with the same, Tata Zest petrol is powered by 1.2-litre Riverton petrol engine for this compact sedan. It has a displacement capacity of 1193cc with 4-cylinders and 16-valves, and its gets fuel through multi point injection system, and having three modes of driving eco, sport and city. So the fuel efficiency gets losted completely in order to accommodate according to the driving situations. I have seen some instances when the mileage was not more than 10 KMPL at all.
I am also agreeing on the same, due to the mixed modes of the driving the zest becomes inefficient on the fuel economy. As per my experience the vehicle gives a mileage of 9-10 kilometer per liter in sports node, 11-12 in the city mode and 13-14 maximum on the economic mode. The Company claims to have a mileage of 17 KMPL, which I never been able to achieve.
The Tata Zest is one vehicle after a long time, otherwise Tata was betting on some very ugly looking cars which look more like a taxi. But finally we get to see a good car after a long time. The vehicle was said to be giving an awesome mileage as per the ARAI standard, but it doesn’t give that much. The vehicle is very bad on mileage terms. On average Tata Zest gives a mileage of 15 KMPL on the highways and 12 Kmpl in the city.
