There are lot of new things in this car offering best of drive quality and comfort features for the driver and passengers. The F Tronic automated manual transmission is new technology in entry level sedan cars. Its available in Quadrajet 90PS variant. Lot of improvements are made in petrol version as well. You can select diffeent modes of fuel supply with which there would be changes in fuel consumption and power outputs. The drive quality is superb and very much updated. A well set engine can take you at speeds of higher than 159kmph.The ground clearane and suspension quality assures a safe journey on normal and abnormal road conditions.

Tata Zest is completely built on the new platform of REVOTRON technology which was build with the motto of providing maximum customer satisfaction. According to my fact and figures Tata Zest is performing well in Indian market because its eco mode is providing maximum fuel economy and its sports mode is providing maximum performance. Tata Zest in sports mode can hit maximum speed of 154 km/hr which is perfect for city traffic and Tata Zest also can pull itself from standing still or NIL to 100km/hr in just 15 seconds which is acceptable.

The 1.2 Ltr. revotron petrol engine of Tata Zest performs fantastically and produces a uniform peak torque of 140 Nm in the range of 1750 RPM- 3000 RPM. Uniform delivery of torque helps a lot in effortless driving. The diesel motor is also great and the only one in its segment which is available in the Automatic variant. The fuel efficiency of petrol version is around 10 Kmpl in city and 13 Kmpl on highways whereas the diesel motor gives around 14-15 Kmpl on busy city roads and 17-18 Kmpl on highways.

Tata Zest is the only car in its segment which contains a turbocharged petrol engine and the only one to have a diesel automatic. The 1.2 Ltr. revotron engine of petrol zest can be operated on three modes- city, sport and eco mode. It is a peppy engine which loves to be revved hard. its power output is 89 bhp @ 5000 RPM and torque produced is 140 Nm@ 1750 RPM which is pretty impressive. The Diesel mill is the turbocharged 1.3 Ltr Quadrajet engine which also produces 89 Bhp and impressive torque of 200 Nm.
