Well, if your choice is between Tata Zest, Polo and Ford Aspire, then, we will surely recommend Tata Zest to you. It comes with a 1.2L petrol engine, and gives a power output of 85PS. Also, it comes with the latest technological features, such as LED Daytime running lights, amazing grilles, headlamps, etc. The LED tail lamps are also quite good looking. Overall, the car is a modern compact sedan.
VW Polo is the hatchback and Zest and Aspire are compact sedans. Zest is yet to be launched in India. The pricing of Zest and Polo is almost same and aspire is expected to be in that league. The Polo has a premium looking cabin but offers lesser features than Tata Zest in the same money. Overall fit and finish is though better in polo. On Engine front, Polo petrol is behind Tata's 1.2 Revotron motor be it the power of torque. However, it is polo diesel which feels more powerful and refined than Tata's. However, Zest's diesel has a peak torque delivery on a wider RPM range and it is surely a plus. Service and maintenance of VW cars is surely costly than Tata's.
Ford Aspire is probably the best looking of the lot, but nothing can be conclusively said about its performance as it is yet to be launched. Between Zest and VW Polo, Polo is surely the winner if overall design ergonomics and cabin quality is talked about. Tata's Zest is good on engine front though but Polo is also not any behind. The GT series of Polo surely beats Zest hands down in terms of power and torque. The fuel efficiency of Polo is surely lesser than the Zest. However, ownership cost of VW cars is higher due to high service costs. If a decent mid level car is thought of in price range of 5-6 lakhs, bot Zest and Polo are good options.
