Tata Zest is featured with 2 engine options, the tried and tested 1.3 liter Quadrajet diesel engine and 1.2 litre turbocharged MPFi petrol engine, the powerful Revotron engine delivers best in class power and torque of 89 bhp and 140 Nm between 1750-3500 rpm respectively, while the 1.3 liter engine delivers power and torque of 89 bhp and 200 Nm @ 1750-3000 rpm respectively. The built in multi drive mode features lets you switch between 3 different driving mode: sport, eco and city, giving you the power of 3 engine in 1, you can choose between intelligent burst of power, maximum fuel efficiency and perfect balance of both, at will.
These are refined engines, offers good balance of ride and handling with low NVH levels and minimum vibrations, both engines offers excellent low and mid range punch, there is no turbo lag and power delivery is linear. Gear shifting is smooth and the clutch is also light. In my opinion long term performance of Zest engines is good.
