Yogesh Malkani's review on Tata Zest XM Diesel
Year of Manufacture : 2015 | Driven no. of Kms. : 13300
- Pros: 1.Good interior finish.
2.Awesome music system.
- Cons: 1.Need of more cup holders.
For some years TATA MOTORS is facing bad customer reviews on its fleet of passenger vehicles. But I think that company has come with a good solution in the form of its new compact sedan ZEST.
Automotive giant is ready to get its way back up the ladder in passenger car segment.
:- I preferred the diesel motor over new Revotron petrol motor because of daily 80km run. I have driven ZEST in city, highways, mountain roads and done a little bit off-roading and car handles and delivers power in efficient way.
:-ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION:-
The Quadrajet diesel motor is fine tuned and delivers power impressively. Gear shits are smooth because of a smooth transmission.
Car is also good for city driving with instant torque delivery.
Suspensions are smooth and makes ride easy.
Zest steering is balances and feels a good grip on road even during sharp turns vehicle clings to the road. But on highways going above 120 creates slight vibrations on steering wheel.
:-INTERIORS AND EXTERIORS:-
I think ZEST has more premium interiors than its rivals. Dual tone interiors and piano finish console gives it an edge. Seats and ride positions are good and relaxing for driver and passenger for long journey. Harman-Kardon sound system in ZEST is really good.
Exteriors resemble a little bit of Vista from side but from front and rear vehicle is totally changed.
Without AC turned on zest diesel motor delivers 19.5km/ltr in city and impressive 22.3 km/ltr on highway.
With AC turned on it delivers 18.8km/ltr in city and 20.5km/ltr on highway below speed of 80km/hr.
:-For me its been value for money and a good vehicle and its living up to my expectation.
