Toyota C-HR PreviewThe growing competition in the luxury SUV segment has witnessed the introduction of hybrid models from most of the manufacturers. The Toyota Bharath will introduce the C-HR model in European countries and it is expected to be launched by early 2018. The Toyota C-HR features would include a 1.8 L petrol engine mated to the Permanent Magnet Synchronous motor and automatic transmission for the driveline. Some of the new features to be introduced in this model would include auto headlights, leather interiors, dual-zone automatic air conditioning and vehicle stability control features as a standard.
Toyota C-HR Expected ExteriorsThe Toyota C-HR exteriors will have auto headlights with LED daytime running lights, body-coloured front and rear bumpers, and the power adjustable ORVMs. The Bi-tone black roof and privacy glass on the rear windscreen could be introduced. The side profile will have 17” alloy wheels with 5-spoke design and 18” alloy wheels with multi-spoke design as options, and wide opening door panels with stylish body contours running from the front fenders to the rear quarter panel. The rear profile will have combination lights with LED extending up to the quarter panel, and the tailgate with push button operation would be featured in this model.
Toyota C-HR Expected InteriorThe Toyota C-HR interiors will have 3-spoke leather steering wheels with multimedia switches and 4.2” coloured TFT screen for multi-information display. The seats with leather upholstery and power adjustment feature for the front seats, the leather padded armrest on the console box, and leather gear shift would be featured in this model. The comfort features will have dual-zone automatic air conditioning, multimedia system with 8” display, navigation system and digital audio with 6 speakers. The interior fit and finish would be available with door inserts in black, brown and purple options.
Toyota C-HR Expected Engine and TransmissionThe Toyota C-HR specifications will have a 1798 cc petrol engine delivering 122 PS power at 5200 rpm and torque of 142 Nm in the range of 3600-4000 rpm. The Hybrid system will have a permanent magnet synchronous motor with 53 kW power and 163 Nm torque and the motor will be powered by a Nickel-metal hydride battery. The transmission system will have automatic transmission system with the drive connected to all four wheels.
Toyota C-HR Expected MileageThe Toyota C-HR mileage would range at 23 kmpl in standard driving conditions. The hybrid system average fuel economy would range at 17 to 20 kmpl and it can vary slightly depending upon driving mode selection and hybrid power usage.
Toyota C-HR Expected Braking and SafetyThe Toyota C-HR braking system will have ventilated discs at the front and disc brakes at the rear. The anti-lock braking system and vehicle stability control will be featured for getting perfect stability and control over all surfaces. The safety features of seven airbags, pre-collision warning system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering control and adaptive cruise control would be available in this model.
Toyota C-HR Expected Performance and HandlingThe marvelous performance petrol engine in combination with the high-powered Hybrid system can take the vehicle from idling to 100 kmph in just about 11 seconds. The driving dynamics are improved with vehicle stability control, traction control, trailer sways control and hill-start assist control for perfect handling over all terrains. There will be special features, such as a blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert assist for safe handling during high speed driving, such as on a highway.
