Toyota Corolla Altis is available in both petrol and diesel versions. The Petrol version carries a 1.8 Ltr., 4 Cylinder, 2ZR-FE, Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) engine which produces an impressive power output of 138 bhp @ 6400 RPM and a torque of 173 Nm @ 4000 RPM. On the other hand, the diesel variant is powered by a 1.4 Ltr., D-4D, 4 cylinder inline, Common Rail Diesel engine which produces 87 bhp @ 3800 RPM and a torque of 205 Nm @ 1800 RPM. Both Petrol and diesel ar coupled with 6 speed manual transmission. The Automatic petrol version has a 7-speed gearbox.
All the diesel trims of Toyota Corolla Altis run on the same 1.4 engine, which is integrated with a 4-cylinder and 16 valve using D-4D based valve configuration and it displaces a capacity of 1364cc. This motor is incorporated with a turbocharger and an intercooler, which enhances its durability. This engine can produce a meaty power output of 87.2bhp at 3800rpm that results in a peak torque production of 205Nm between 1800 to 2800rpm. The makers have smartly coupled this diesel mill with a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox.
