Can a 2011 model Toyota Liva be fitted with a CNG kit? What will be its performance with the CNG kit?

Since your car is not new and the warranties have already expired, you can get the retrofitting done on your Etios. A number of cars have shifted to gas and it seems to be working quite well for them. A CNG kit will cost you about Rs. 45,000/- and you can get a 14 kg tank installed for a range of 180-200 kms and still be left with 350 litres of boot space. On the other hand, if you have longer drives more frequently, you can also get two 14 kg tanks installed to enjoy double the range but you will have to sacrifice all the boot space for it. Performance wise, the only matter of concern is a slight reduction in pick up especially in a fully loaded car with the air conditioner working. Also, you might need sleeves inserted in the rear suspension if you opt for two tanks as the weight can make the car bottom out on speed breakers. Otherwise, there shouldn’t be any issues with the engine or safety provided the installation has been done properly.
