About Toyota

Quick overview about Toyota Fortuner

It's no big deal if you recognize the Fortuner name to be the one that inspires many Indians to work harder and own this piece of beauty. The car looks a brute and still somehow exudes the class of being a premium vehicle

At 4795mm in length, 1855mm in width and 1835mm in height, the Toyota Fortuner is a what you call massive. It might be smaller than the Ford Endeavour and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, but at the same time, it is much wider than both the rivals giving it that unmistable road presence it carries

The changes to the Fortuner include the interior being re-furnished too. The sporty pedals look amazing while the steering wheel is new and feels chunky to hold

Engine & Transmission:

Toyota India has phased out the 3.0L D-4D diesel engine and introduced the all-new 2.8L GD diesel motor in the new Fortuner SUV. It is the same engine that made its debut with the Innova Crysta

The fuel efficiency has improved significantly with the introduction of new diesel engine as Toyota Fortuner manual and automatic variants deliver 14.24kmpl and 12.90kmpl (Both ARAI-Certified), respectively. On the petrol front, the SUV has a fuel economy of 10.01kmpl and 10.26kmpl (Both ARAI-Certified) with the manual and automatic variant, respectively

Braking and Safety:

The Toyota Fortuner features ventilated disc brakes in the front and drum brakes at the rear. The car has Anti-Brake Locking System, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution and Brake Assist making it stop in the least possible distance

Performance and Handling:

The Fortuner is available in three variants with the same engine and two transmission options. Start the car and first thing you notice is the diesel clatter even at idle rpm

What do we think about:

The Toyota Fortuner is one big burly SUV which reinstates what SUVs should be like. It is big, wide, heavy and macho and that is what manufacturers should think about while making SUVs

While there might many competitors for the Toyota Fortuner, its chief competitor is the Ford Endeavor. Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton and Renault Koleos are other alternatives can check out
