Is new fortuner automatic with 4x4 better or manual 4x4 ?

The selection between manual transmission and automatic transmission depends lot on individual preferences. Fortuner is a real performer in both versions. There is difference of more than one lakh with automatic transmission version price on higher side. If price is not a constraint and preferenes is for automatic transmission then its worth the money spent.
New Fortuner 4X 4 automatic is equally good as its 4X4 manual counterpart. It has got some small cosmetic changes in exterior and interiors and the automatic version is heavier than the manual one. You get the option of shifting to manual using a selector lever instead of the shift-on-the fly option. The On-road and off-road performance of this 5-speed torque converter equipped automatic gearbox is actually quite good. However, the auto gearbox saps bit power from the engine. Given the same ex-showroom price, the automatic version is also a good buying option.

"I have a 2007 Toyota Fortuner 4X4 3.0 D4D and have increased the suspension height and am using bigger wheels. Recently the inner CV joint by the tripod broke and I replaced it with a genuine Toyota spare part. Soon enough, while reversing in a full circle towards left, I heard a click sound and after investigating I found that it had broken again. What can be the possible reasons for this breaking? I have checked the upper and lower control arm bushes, upper and lower ball joints, stabilizer bushes as well as have measured alignment of the front and rear wheels also. I still haven’t been able to find the cause for this breakage. Please share an insight regarding the same. "
