Hey Mudasir !!
A new car is a huge decision, especially if you are unsure about whether you want one with a manual or automatic transmission. The automatic transmission is very easy and comfortable to drive in the city traffic, so you can easily drive a AT car in the traffic. But if we come to the performance and top speed, the manual transmission variant will give you this more. The acceleration offered from a vehicle when equipped with a manual transmission is usually superior. If fuel economy is a issue for you then you should go for the automatic variant as this gives your more fuel economy. And the maintenance cost of the automatic transmission is more than the manual transmission.
Toyota Fortuner comes in different diesel variants that have combination of four-wheel drive, two-wheel drive, automatic transmission and manual transmission. Automatic Toyota Fortuner refers to its variants in which the D-4D, turbocharged engine is mated with a 5-speed automatic transmission gearbox. The gears are shifted automatically and there is no hassle of manual gearshift. Manual Toyota Fortuner comes with 5-speed manual transmission gearbox wherein the gears are to be shifted in the traditional manual manner.
Automatic Toyota Fortuner gives more freedom and the driver doesn’t have to concentrate on changing gears. The automatic transmission variants do not carry a clutch pedal and once the transmission is put into drive mode, everything is automatic. In heavy traffic areas it proves to be a boon. A manual transmission gearbox requires the driver to have sufficient skill and experience to drive smoothly which is eliminated in automatic transmission.
Buying a new car has to be a decision that is precisely based on the need and the purpose of the buyer, keeping the budget in mind. The Toyota Fortuner comes with two variants. The Automatic Fortuner is the one which has a turbocharged engine with a 5 speed gearbox that offers automatic transmission. The main difference stands in the transmission system. The manual Fortuner has gear system wherein the transmission is done manually. The main advantage of automatic transmission over manual transmission is when fuel consumption becomes an issue, automatic transmission suits better in 9 out of 10 times.

"I have a 2007 Toyota Fortuner 4X4 3.0 D4D and have increased the suspension height and am using bigger wheels. Recently the inner CV joint by the tripod broke and I replaced it with a genuine Toyota spare part. Soon enough, while reversing in a full circle towards left, I heard a click sound and after investigating I found that it had broken again. What can be the possible reasons for this breaking? I have checked the upper and lower control arm bushes, upper and lower ball joints, stabilizer bushes as well as have measured alignment of the front and rear wheels also. I still haven’t been able to find the cause for this breakage. Please share an insight regarding the same. "
