Toyota Prius Facelift Preview

The Toyota Prius, as per the information revealed at the LA Motor Show, has gotten an array of updates in 2019. The upgraded styling and silhouette, adequate interior modifications, mechanical changes, and the integration of advanced safety gears can make this all-wheel-drive variant stand out from the crowd.

Toyota Prius Facelift Exterior

The upcoming Variant of Toyota Prius is said to have a cleaner appearance featuring the latest LED headlights which are comparatively brighter and thinner than its recent version. The rear profile sports a taillight with a horizontal design coupled with the upgraded tailgate. The bumper is toned down and has replaced the triangular fog lamps with circular units. Furthermore, the new alloy wheels addition is another interesting update that adds to the overall visual appeal of the car. The updated sedan will be sold with two color variants – Aqua Breeze and Emotional Red.

There is not much modification made in the cabin segment of the model. However, the makers managed to introduce the latest infotainment system. Quick loading times and the incorporation of touch screen feature turn the entertainment system of the upcoming model more spontaneous to utilize. Another noticeable feature is the increased size of the smartphone charging tray. Moreover, the better head-up display system features navigation instructions, and the modern interior upholstery.

Toyota Prius Facelift Engine & Transmission

Under the hood, there is the same 1.8-Liter petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox is fitted. Toyota car makers have integrated an additional AWD (all-wheel-drive) system sporting an electric motor on the rear end which supplies extra power to the rear wheels whenever required. Its engine generates a power of 98 PS and the peak torque output of 142 Nm. At the same time, 72 PS of power and 163 Nm of torque are produced by its electric motor.

Toyota Prius Facelift is expected to return a mileage of 26.27 Kmpl in standard driving condition.

The braking system of the sedan is expected to stay same with both the front and rear braking system sporting ventilated discs. The car has an anti-lock braking system, power door locks, driver and passenger airbags. Moreover, there are features like head-up display, door ajar warning, front and side impact beams, KeyLess entry, centrally mounted fuel tank. The latest AWD also sports the latest nickel battery that is integrated to tackle the cold state.

The 1.8-liter engine incorporated in Toyota Prius Facelift has the displacement capacity of 1798 cc and delivers an impressive mileage of 26.27 Kmpl. The front suspension of the car features MacPherson Strut whereas the rear axle is integrated with Torsion beam suspension.

What do we think about Toyota Prius Facelift?

The sedan is revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show and the additional features and the price are yet to be announced (expected to be introduced by 18th January at the Brussels Motor Show). It is expected to perform well and the latest infotainment system and AWD boost its overall outlook.
