Toyota Yaris V CVT Description
Toyota has launched Yaris sedan in India that enters the C segment to field against arch rivals like Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. The Toyota Yaris 2018 carline is available in four grades, including J, G, V and VX trims in manual and CVT options. In terms of features, the V CVT gets similar equipment as its manual version, such as all disc brakes, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, etc. The only additional feature apart from the CVT unit is the paddle shifters that are missing in the manual variant. Besides, there is huge difference in price as the Toyota Yaris V CVT price is pegged at Rs. 12.90 Lakh (ex-showroom).
Toyota Yaris V CVT ExteriorAt the front, the Toyota Yaris V CVT sports a chrome grille and a set of projector headlamps with LED line guide. Round the back, it features LED combination tail lamps. The outside rear view mirrors come with integrated turn indicators and body-coloured door handles. The chrome handles and LED daytime running lights are missing in V CVT.
Toyota Yaris V CVT InteriorThe insides of Toyota Yaris V CVT trim are enveloped in a dual-tone colour scheme, featuring a waterfall design on the instrument panel. A large 7.0-inch LED system with remote control and HDMI screen is layered on the console. The navigation and gesture control in the audio system with CD MP3, AM/FM, USB, AUX-In and Bluetooth have been given a miss. Among the connectivity features, it gets steering-mounted controls, power windows at both ends, push start stop button, rear armrest with cup holders, etc.
Toyota Yaris V CVT Engine & TransmissionToyota Yaris is currently offered with a single 1.5-litre petrol engine, which makes the maximum power of 107 bhp at 6000 rpm and peak torque of 140 Nm at 4,200 rpm. The four-cylinder in-line petrol engine comes linked to a seven-speed super CVT-i transmission that channelizes power to the wheels.
Toyota Yaris V CVT MileageToyota Yaris sources power from the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder In-line petrol engine and is available in manual as well as CVT unit. While the manual version of Yaris delivers the claimed mileage of 17.8 km/l, its CVT counterpart is rated at 17.8 km/l.
Toyota Yaris V CVT Braking and SafetyThe safety brigade on the Toyota Yaris V CVT includes as many as seven airbags (driver, passenger, two curtain, two front side and driver knee), anti-lock-braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, front and rear parking sensors, reverse camera, etc. In addition to the above-mentioned safety tech, Toyota Yaris V CVT also gets auto headlamps, follow-me-home headlamps, front fog lamps, rear fog lamps, rear defogger, speed-sensing auto door lock, impact-sensing door unlock, central locking and immobilizer.
Toyota Yaris V CVT Performance and HandlingDeriving power from the 1.5-litre petrol unit and linked to a CVT gearbox, the Toyota Yaris V CVT offers better performance in the city conditions, while it struggles with the acceleration on the highway.
Toyota Yaris V CVT VerdictThe Toyota Yaris V CVT is slotted below the top-spec VX variant in the carline, and packs in a raft of safety, comfort, infotainment and safety features. It is a good alternative over its manual version for those planning to buy an automatic sedan.
