Toyota Yaris VX Description
Sitting at the top of the Toyota Yaris carline, the Toyota Yaris VX features an array of additional goodies over the V trim. On the outside, it gets the chrome-finished door handles and LED daytime running lights, both of which are missing in the V grade. The insides of the VX variant pack additional six speakers with the touchscreen infotainment system, leather seats and electrically-powered driver’s seat. On the safety front, the fully-loaded top-spec variant gets tyre pressure monitoring system, hill-start assist and rear sunshade. With these additional bits, the Toyota Yaris VX price in India for the manual variant is Rs. 12.85 Lakh (ex-showroom price).
Toyota Yaris VX ExteriorThe exterior styling is largely similar as the V trim with similar elements on the outside, except for the chrome door handles that replace the body-painted units and LED daytime running lights that are missing in the V grade. Apart from these changes, the Toyota Yaris VX trim features the same projector headlamps with LED line guide and LED rear combination lamps with line guide, as in the V grade.
Toyota Yaris VX InteriorThe interior of Toyota Yaris VX 2018 gets dual-tone colour scheme with the waterfall design instrument panel. One of the primary differentiator between the VX and V grades is the presence of features such as SD card, MirrorLink, WiFi, navigation system and air-gesture control in audio. It additionally gets leather seats and door trims, along with an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.
Toyota Yaris VX Engine & TransmissionThe Toyota Yaris has been launched in a single petrol unit missing out on the diesel powertrain. Toyota has used the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, inline gasoline unit for the new Yaris sedan, which makes a maximum power of 107 bhp at 6000 rpm against the peak torque of 140 Nm at 4200 rpm. This engine comes linked to a six-speed manual transmission for directing power to the wheels.
Toyota Yaris VX MileageThe 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine powering the Yaris sedan is quite frugal with claimed fuel-economy of 17.1 km/l in the manual version. Juxtaposed to the arch rivals, Honda City and Maruti Ciaz, the new Toyota Yaris 2018 delivers slightly lesser mileage.
Toyota Yaris VX Braking and SafetyWith more prominence on safety, carmakers are not shying away from adding primary safety bits to their vehicles. On the Yaris VX, customers get seven airbags, vehicle stability control, anti-lock-braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, hill-start assist control, vehicle stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, front/rear parking sensors, reverse camera, auto headlamps, follow-me-home headlamps, etc. Other safety related tech, such as front fog lamps, rear fog lamps, rear defogger, speed-sensing auto door lock, impact-sensing door unlock, central locking and immobilizer, are also available with the variant.
Toyota Yaris VX Performance and HandlingIn terms of performance and handling, the 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 6-speed manual transmission deliver a decent performance altogether.
Toyota Yaris VX VerdictPlaced at the top of the Yaris carline, the VX manual trim is slightly pricey and offers a host of additional features over the V trim. It is a good option for those who prefer manual transmission over CVT.
