The Jetta was first offering by the VW in India and it was placed as a car of 10 lakh range. But recently the facelifted version is placed in the D- segment and will be sold as a CKD unit. The price starts from 14 lakh onwards and the car will face a stiff competition from Skoda Octavia which has a similar makeover and has been promoted up. Other competitors include the luxury sedan cars like Toyota Corolla Altis and Hyundai Elantra.

Volkswagen has created a good name for itself in the Indian market. Thought there are other competitors also in the market in this price range but customers are showing interest in the car because of different reasons. The important reason is the brand name VW has created. With brand name comes brand value which is very high for VW. Other reasons are its powerful engine, spacious interiors, bold looks, easy handling and manual gearbox which is smooth to use.
