Volkswagen Polo Facelift Preview

Volkswagen Polo in India has grabbed a considerable part of the market share in a quick manner since the time it was launched. The facelift version of Volkswagen Polo is expected by early 2018. The Polo Facelift will be given a facelift for the body panel, front and rear bumpers, and new projector headlights with LED surrounds would be featured. The interior fit and finish would be upgraded with new trim finishers, and advanced technology infotainment system with touchscreen display, surround sound system and steering-mounted controls would be offered in this model. The safety features of airbags, ABS with EBD, engine immobilizer and ISOFIX child seat anchorages would be featured as standard.

The Volkswagen Polo Facelift exteriors will have new design features for the front bumpers, bonnet and side body panel. The new projector headlamps with daytime running lights would be featured in the Polo Facelift version. The tailgate design with a central VW logo will be featured and new tail lamps with LED surround will give better visibility to the following vehicles. The dimensional features will be given slight changes, enhancing the dynamics of the vehicle, and new stylish alloy wheels in R16 size and stylish roof rails would be featured in this model.

The Volkswagen Polo Facelift interiors will have a new dual-tone dashboard with a spacious glove box with air cooling, multi-information display instrument cluster, new infotainment system with touchscreen display and steering-mounted audio controls. The driver seats would be provided with height adjustment and adjustability for the head restraint. The comfort and convenience features of automatic air conditioning, keyless entry system, push button start, cup holders and bottle holders at the center console and door trims would be offered in this model.

Volkswagen Polo Facelift Engine & Transmission

The Volkswagen Polo Facelift specifications will feature a refined and upgraded version of the existing 1.2 L 1198 cc 3-cylinder engine with power output of 75 PS at 5400 rpm and torque of 110 Nm at 3750 rpm. The Polo Facelift diesel will have a 1498 cc 4-cylinder engine delivering the power of 90 PS at 4200 rpm and torque of 230 Nm at 1500-2500 rpm. The transmission system will feature a 5-speed manual gearbox and the drive is connected to the front wheels.

Volkswagen Polo Facelift Mileage

The Volkswagen Polo Facelift mileage can be expected to be improved by 2 to 3 kmpl from the existing versions, which are delivering 16 kmpl on an average. The Polo Facelift fuel economy of the diesel version can be expected to be in the range of 20 to 22 kmpl in standard driving conditions. The facelift version would be coming up with the completely refined engine and improved vehicle dynamics, and that would, in turn, mean improved fuel economy as well.

Volkswagen Polo Facelift Braking and Safety

The Volkswagen Polo Facelift braking system will have disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The top variants are expected to feature anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution as a standard. The safety features of dual front airbags, seat belts with pretensioners, ISOFIX child seat and engine immobilizer would be offered for the safety of occupants and protection against theft attempts.

The refinement of engine, transmission and driving dynamics with slight modifications in dimensions will further enhance the performance of the car over varying road conditions. The upgraded seat upholstery and height adjustability for the driver seat, and the improved visibility would enhance the driving comfort over long drives. The drive quality would be further improved with upgraded suspension system having McPherson struts at the front and semi-independent suspension system at the rear.
