My Volkswagen Polo 1.2 doesn’t have temp gauge, how do I drive without the same?

Many modern cars are coming these days without temp gauge, in my opinion reason for the same might be that modern oils are much more effective at low temperatures and prevent the wear that cold engines used to suffer. There are many ways to know whether your car’s engine is overheating without temp gauge like engine starts making ticking noise, reduced engine power, hot hood, steam coming from the hood etc. Though an aftermarket temperature gauge can be installed in a car, if it didn't originally come with one.
