Saurabh Sharma's review on Volkswagen Polo Highline 1L (P)
Year of Manufacture : 2014 | Driven no. of Kms. : 13000
- Pros: The car is simply brilliant in every field. It is amply powered even with a 3 cyl engine, its comfort is brilliant, interiors are minimalist and have brilliant finish and quality, there is no ornamentation which keeps the cost at a minimum and even the parts are now cheaper as they are manufactured within India. Overall the car has no lacunae as far as I could see. Some people feel that the car has high ownership cost and fuel efficiency is low, but I have driven the car for more than a year now and the ownership cost due to maintenance has been ZERO (except for the service) and my car returns me cumulative mileage of 16+ kmpl (even in petrol).
- Cons: Only shortcoming in the car has now been overcome with the new models and the car therefore has no shortcomings. Although, some people might find it a little noisy and vibrating which is not the case in Asian cars, otherwise no issues.
The overall rating would be 10 on 10. The car has brilliant finish and quality is very much German. The stability at high speeds is good, steering is driver friendly, necessary features are present, safety and interiors are top notch and premium, breakdown and maintenance other than service is nil and the paint job is exceptionally good. Only thing I realized during service is that be present and get your car serviced in front of you. If the service is not checked properly it might create trouble and history has it that service has a few left black spots on Volkswagen's image among other things! For me there have been absolutely no issues with the car and the ownership experience has been brilliant.
