I am considering to buy new Volkswagen Highline (petrol) but it has some cons like no rear camera, average mileage, after sale service is not good, expensive parts, low resale value, does it still worth buying? Please suggest in comparison to Maruti Ciaz and Honda City?

Yes, your assumption seems right, because of all these shortcomings Volkswagen didn’t sell Vento as much as its rivals. Vento Highline (petrol) doesn’t have rear parking camera and mileage is also not good, as per user reviews it just delivers 10-11 in city driving conditions s and 13-14 kmpl on highway. Talking about the after sales service Volkswagen doesn’t really excel in this department and really lags behind its rivals. Spare parts and maintenance cost is also slightly higher compared to rivals. Resale value is also lower than other cars. In my opinion you should consider Vento Highline (petrol) only if prefer is build quality, handling over all these cons.

Among your desired cars (Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City), the Ciaz seems to be most suitable for your need & preference as it features reverse parking camera, delivers best mileage (among three), after sale service is excellent, low spare parts and maintenance cost and when it comes to resale value, again Maruti Suzuki fares better in comparison with other cars.
