Radhakrishna Bhandary's review on Volkswagen Vento 1.5 TDI Highline
Year of Manufacture : 2016 | Driven no. of Kms. : 1500
- Pros: The brand name influenced me with the added influence of German precision engineering.
- Cons: I expect side airbags and also the Vento that is being shipped for non Indian customers. Why a slightly lower version?
I got a fuel efficiency of 25.5 KMPL @ 2000 RPM and 90 KMPH for 350 KMS for which about 150 was with cruise control switched ON and 80 KMS of bad uneven curvy roads for which my speed did not cross 60 KMPH. This really impressed me on my first long drive with my family. The toffee brown color indeed make heads turn. Braking is a A+. The car does press onto the road at high speeds or the occasional surprise road smooth bumps would otherwise toss the car when at 140 KMPH. I believe i heard rattles at low RPM on bad roads for about 250 KMS. But it vanished on good roads. Now i suspect my baby's toy that was in the glove compartment. I will have to get this verified the next time i take that bad stretch. Suspension test was done by my toddler whose toys were not thrown about when placed on the rear arm rest. My wife also did not complain of back ache or fatigue after the long journey of 400 KMS on my first long drive. Overall a hats off to Volkswagen.
