Volvo S60 Polestar Description
The Swedish car maker has introduced the 2017 Volvo S60 Polestar in India at an ex-showroom price (Delhi) of Rs. 52.5 Lakh and this is the introductory pricing. The car is getting retailed via CBU route in limited numbers through even limited dealer outlets. The Volvo S60 Polestar is essentially a heavily-reworked version of the S60 T6 and is competing in the entry-level performance sedan segment. Although the company has used the same engine that powers S60 T6, it has been tweaked for improved performance.
Volvo S60 Polestar ExteriorAgainst the standard S60, the Polestar version gets tiny styling updates on the front with a redesigned bumper and grille. A Polestar badge sits on the grille along with a Radar for City Safety and guided cruise control. A front splitter, rear diffuser and spoiler pThe S60 Polestar comes with visual differences over the regular S60 and looks really appealing, and in the Polestar Blue shade, it is sure to attract quite a lot of eye balls on the road. The front end sees a slight revision, thanks to an updated bumper and grille. The lower portion of the front bumper has been redesigned to make it more aerodynamic. The car rides on 20-inch alloy wheels, which look very elegant. The rear too remains more or less the same with a beautiful tail lamp assembly, which intrudes nicely into the boot lid, twin exhaust pipes and integrated spoiler. The colour options available are Onyx Black, Ice White and the signature Rebel Blue.oint at its committed intentions. View it from the side and you adore those 20inch rims housing 6-piston Brembo calipers. Already a gorgeous piece of design now looks, even more, appealing with a sporty flair.
Volvo S60 Polestar InteriorApart from some minor changes, like aluminium sport pedals, new gear knob, sport seats, carbon fibre inlays and nubuck leather, the interiors of new Volvo S60 Polester look exactly the same. The overall dashboard layout remains identical to the S60. The driver’s seat gets a lot of adjustment options and finding the perfect driving position is easy. The soft leather seats are extremely comfortable both at the front and rear, and lend a sense of class to the cabin. You have more than enough legroom at the front and back, and a good amount of headroom too. The multifunctional steering wheel feels good to hold, and has buttons to control the audio system and phone and read data on the instrument cluster. The boot is large at 380 litre and the tailgate is electrically operated.
The touch-screen infotainment system is a slick unit; it offers Bluetooth, USB, CD, DVD, AUX connectivity, GPS Navigation, iPod compatibility, etc., and the audio system offers excellent sound output. The digital instrument cluster packs in a lot of info and everything is easy to read; it shows Instantaneous Consumption, Distance to Empty, Average Fuel Consumption, Average Speed, Low Fuel Level Warning, Door Ajar Warning, Adjustable Cluster Brightness, Gear Indicator, Shift Indicator, Tachometer, etc. Other notable features include Automatic Climate Control, Electrically-Adjustable Sunroof, Tilt and Telescopic Steering, Parking Sensors, Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel and Gear Knob, Electrically-Adjustable and Retractable ORVMs, Rear Defogger, Rain-Sensing, Wipers, Remote Boot-Lid Opener, etc., to name a few.
Volvo S60 Polestar Engine & TransmissionThe S60 Polestar is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that is supercharged and turbocharged, and discharges a peak power of 367 bhp and 470 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed transmission with power being sent out to all four wheels. The engine also features electronically-controlled flaps, which can be activated by turning the Sport mode on. The claimed top speed is 250 kmph and the sprint from 0-100 km/hr takes 4.7 seconds.
Volvo S60 Polestar MileageExpect the 2.2 liter petrol engine to give out 6-7 km/l in real-world conditions while the ARAI-claimed figure is 12 km/l.

You’re pretty well catered for when it comes to safety too. Volvo S60 Polestar Performance and HandlingThe ride quality is excellent for the most part, and so is the handling with tight body control and eagerness to dive into corners. Power delivery is very linear and the car picks up speed with no effort. The mid-range punch of the engine is superb and you feel there’s a surplus of power. The paddle shifters are also a joy to use. Apart from the regular Drive and Sports modes, the S60 Polestar also offers a Sport Plus mode. The steering wheel is very precise and guides the car to the exact direction that you are looking for. Volvo has tuned the exhaust so perfectly that they deserve a big applaud for it and the S60 Polester is a sweet sounding car. However, the low ground clearance means that the car is likely to hit bumps on an uneven road. The suspensions of the S60 Polester have been tuned slightly stiff to give the car a bit more stability at speed, and it also offers segment-first manual adjustment via a knob located at the base of each damper for different usages. The 20-inch Michelin Pilot tyres on S60 Polester provide great feedback while offering an excellent grip and composure.
Volvo S60 Polestar VerdictThe S60 Polestar has got all the ingredients that make it a perfect luxury sedan. It offers appealing looks, plenty of safety equipments, powerful engine, and good handling and performance. The car rivals against the likes of Mercedes GLC and Audi Q5.
