1100 New Hyundai Elantra booked in 6 weeks

The South Korean auto giant has launched its all new Hyundai Elantra sedan in India during the month of August 2016. Just after six weeks of its launch the premium sedan bagged 1,100 bookings, which is quite good for a car in this segment.

During this period, Hyundai dealerships across the country have witnessed over 18,000 enquiries for the new Elantra. Currently, Hyundai offers the latest sixth generation Elantra in the Indian market. The all-new Elantra further strengthens Hyundai's premium vehicle portfolio in India which is giving it an edge over its main rival Maruti Suzuki. 

The all new Elantra comes with two engine options, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces peak power of 152PS and peak torque of 192NM, while the 1.6-litre diesel engine produces maximum power of 128PS and maximum torque of 259NM respectively. Both engines are further connected to a six-speed manual and a six-speed auto gearbox.
Hyundai has given its customers a range of choice with total 9 variants, which are S, SX, SX AT, SX(O), SX(O)AT with the petrol engine, and the diesel variants are- S, SX, SX(O), SX(O)AT respectively.

The Elantra premium sedan was launched by Hyundai way back in 1990, but India got its first Elantra sedan only in 2004. Initially the premium sedan got quite a good response but ultimately the sales figures dropped, but with the time the demand of this premium sedan has increased again and it has given the Korean car maker an edge over its more popular competitors. 

The all new-gen Hyundai Elantra is based on the Hyundai’s latest design language and the sedan is loaded with a host of great features. It receives a number of new upgrades alongside refreshed styling and modern features. The car also include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, navigation, Bluetooth telephony, AUX and USB connectivity.
