World’s highest two-wheeler seller, Hero MotoCorp is planning on introducing 15 new products in its line-up this fiscal year. Like Bikeportal suggested earlier, the company will be offering many of its motorcycles with i3S technology and many of the new additions will be an upgrade of the existing models equipped with i3S technology.
Chairman, MD and CEO Pawan Munjal, Hero MotoCorp was quoted saying, “We will have 15 new launches across segments in our domestic and global markets this fiscal, out of which three motorcycles will be introduced in the domestic market before the festive season. The new launches include the new Achiever 150 motorcycle, Super Splendor and Passion PRO with the Hero patented i3S technology”
To introduce new products, the company will need more manufacturing power and commenting on the same Mr. Munjal said Hero’s new Gujarat plant will become functional in the 3rd quarter of this fiscal year. He added "While the Bangladesh plant, our second manufacturing facility at a global location after Colombia, will begin operations in the fourth quarter of this fiscal." While commenting on the stringing emission norms he also said "We have accepted the challenge of BS-VI. The task is enormous, we do not know how much investment will go into the technology and how much can be passed on to the customer. It is too early to comment on the effect on prices."
