Maruti Suzuki Dzire has emerged as India's top-selling sedan for the last decade in the country. The company sold a whooping 19 Lakh units of the sedan in the Indian market, while more than 2.50 Lakh units were sold in 2018-19 which accounts for a monthly average of 21,000 units. The Dzire leads the compact sedan segment with a lion's share of 55 percent in India. Underpinning the fifth generation HEARTECT platform as the Baleno, Maruti DZire challenges the likes of Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor, Ford Aspire and Volkswagen Ameo.
Expressing gratitude to customers for making Dzire successful, Mr Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said that the brand Dzire has been a major contributor to Maruti Suzuki’s journey and the company expresses its gratitude to customers. With the launch of Dzire, Maruti created a new ‘compact sedan’ segment. This segment is continuously evolving and growing. Over the years, Maruti Suzuki Dzire has led this growth and it continues to be relevant and attractive to customers. A testimony to its strong customer connect is that the sales of third-generation Dzire went up by nearly 20 percent. The present model of Dzire complies with frontal offset, side impact and pedestrian regulations.
The new Dzire, launched in May 2017, comes loaded with several exciting features such as DRLs (daytime running lamps), precision cut two-tone alloy wheels, rear AC vents and SmartPlay infotainment system (compatible with Android and iOS users). The cabin features urbane satin chrome accents, burl wood ornamentation and leather-wrapped steering wheel to add a tinge of luxury. The safety features include dual airbags and pre-tensioner force limiter seat belts, ISOFIX (child seat restraint system) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). The diesel variants of the sedan deliver best in segment mileage of 28.40kmpl while the petrol variants return 22kmpl.
