Land Rover United States have recalled around 4,000 vehicles of the years 2013-14 over the airbag concern.

The SUVs from model years 2013 and 2014 are being recalled because the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) connector in the airbag system may become disconnected and airbags might not get deployed in the unfortunate case of a collision.

“In the event of a crash necessitating side air bag deployment, the seat occupant is at an increased risk of injury,” said National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Fortunately, this issue only concerns the side airbags, as the other ones are functioning properly. And there have been no reports of accidents or injuries yet related to the issue.

Jaguar Land Rover is owned by India's Tata Motors. According to the company, they will modify the area around the connector to prevent it from becoming disconnected in case of an emergency. And they have asked their customers to report in for service which is most likely to commence from January 17th.
