According to a report from the Detroit Free Press, Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion held on August 16 and 18 saw some rarely viewed Corvettes. These remarkable cars assembled during the event recognizing their performance, power and toughness are America’s loved sports cars. The exhibition was held at the Monterey Peninsula and this year was special as the Chevrolet Corvette celebrated its 60th year anniversary of this classic sports car.
The Chevrolet Corvette grand sport won the Group 5A race organized in 1963-1966 GT car category of 2500cc. The car was driven by Bruce Canepa. The track also consisted of cars like 1932 MG NE, English origin Morgan 3 wheeler and single seated sky blue line, and French cars 1934 Bugatti Type 59, Alfa Romeo and Maserati. Other cars like Ferrari 250 GTO SWB, BMW M1 and Can-Am monsters also participated in the race Chevrolet during this event shared its story of Corvette’s technology and its upgrade that has given six of the most important race cars the Chevrolet has produced. The display of the cars showed how the cars underwent development stage by stage during the past years and became the super-fast cars that we see now. The main Chevrolet cars showcased were Cunnigham Corvette, Corvette Le mans, Owens Coming Corvette, Corvette Challenge, and Corvette C6R Le Mans Winner. The visitors who came to this event noticed the historic race cars that were developed during the past historic years.
The famous cars like Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Jaguar, Mc Lauren, Aston Martin, Bugatti, Porsche, Talbot Lago, Alfa Romeo and ford were exhibited. The cars selected were based on the authenticity, importance and time. These cars were divided into 16 classes based on the engine specification like displacement, power and according to the origin. Watching these cars at the event was a splendid experience for everyone.
