After announcing the brand new Crossover Concept back in 2013, Honda has finally unwrapped its upcoming model in concept form called the Honda Vision XS-1 at the on-going 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi.
Design inspiration come from Honda’s premium CUV, the Honda Vezel, which hasn’t been able to see the light of day in the Indian market due to its steep prices. That said, the Vision XS-1 Crossover Concept looks very interesting and fresh with sporty styling. Honda officials also claim that its compact sports utility vehicle has been cleverly engineered to provide commendable space and comfort - based on Honda’s unique packaging technologies.
The production version of the XS-1 will be powered by the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that is already serving the Honda Amaze and the City sedans. Once out in the market, the Honda Vision XS-1 in its production form will take on the likes of Ford EcoSport, Renualt Duster and Nissan Terrano and will be offered in most emerging markets such as Thailand, Russia, Brazil and Indonesia.
