In addition to reviving the Skoda Yeti SUV for the Indian market, the Czech-based automaker has also refreshed its flagship sedan, Skoda Superb for the model year 2014 - the new avatar of which, was presented a while ago at the on-going 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi.
The styling updates made to the executive sedan include a larger butterfly grille, reshaped headlamps and fog lamps, redesigned front bumper and a new bonnet. At the rear, there are new taillights, which are part LED’s, while the number plate has been repositioned on to the boot-lid from the bumper. The top level trim, Elegance features bi-xenon headlamps with integrated LEDs and power washers.
Like Skoda Yeti, the Superb too, wii continue with the same range of engine options: the 1.8-litre, turbocharged petrol unit that is rated at 158PS and the 2.0-litre, common-rail diesel engine that churns out 138PS of max power. The 2014 Skoda Superb is expected to launch in the country before the end of 2014 and when it does, the sedan will rival the likes of Volkswagen Passat, Hyundai Sonata, Honda Accord and the Nissan Teana.
