Ford India have officially put a price tag of Rs 4.03 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) on the base variant of the latest iteration of the Ford Figo. The 2014 edition of the Figo hatchback was revealed last week at the on-going 2014 Auto Expo and brings to the table limited changes on the outside and the inside the cabin. The highlight of the latest avatar of the Figo is of course, the brand new colour option of ‘Mars Red’ - which until now was only available with the Ford EcoSport SUV. Other notable features on the outside is a new alloy design, chrome garnish, the new hexagonal air dam and the re-profiled tail-lamps.
Step inside the new 2014 Figo and you will come face to face with a segment-first Speed Sensing Volume Controls and a Wi-Fi connectivity. The Speed Sensing Volume Controls will be offered in all the variants of the hatchback, which runs a factory-fitted audio system. The Wi-Fi module/dongle on the other hand, will cost you an additional Rs 10,000 and connects via the USB jack on the audio system - which in-turn is able to create a Wi-Fi hotspot in the car. Other features inside the new Figo include black leather seat covers with orange stitching and standard driver airbag in the top-end level trim, ZXi.
Apart from the 2014 Ford Figo, the U.S-based automaker showed off an array of concepts and new models at the 2014 Auto Expo. Among them was the all-new Figo sedan concept, which is based on Ford’s Ka Concept hatchback and is scheduled to launch before the end of 2014 in the Indian market. The Ka Concept hatch in turn, is expected to replace the current Figo in the country. But it will be a while, for the Ka Concept to get ready for its production avatar. Also, on display was the all-new 2014 Ford Endeavour and the new Fiesta sedan.
