2014 Hero Xtreme has been launched in India at Rs. 67,364/- (ex-showroom, Pune)

Hero MotoCorp has launched the new 2014 Xtreme in India. The new Xtreme has been cosmetically updated, and was shown as part of the 13 model line-up the company displayed at an event last year. However, it doesn't carries the Sport badge as the showcased model, so is a few styling elements. The company has improved the aesthetics of the Xtreme with a redesigned highbrow headlight embedded in a new cowl, reshaped body panels like mudguards, fuel tank, side panels etc. while the nicely clustered LED tail light and dual tone silencer, finished in matte paint, enhance the looks further.

The most interesting feature that Hero has introduced on this new motorcycle is a charging socket positioned under seat, which can be used to charge a mobile phones on the run. The new Xtreme has not received any mechanical changes and continues to come with a 149.2cc single-cylinder engine producing 15.2 BHP of power at 8500 RPM and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. Traditional telescopic forks serve duty at front whereas a twin-shock absorber setup is used at the rear. Shod with a new 18-inch 110/90 section tyre at the rear, stopping power comes from an optionally available 220mm rear disc. Standard braking power is courtesy a 240 mm disc at front and 130 mm drum at rear.

The Hero Xtreme competes with the likes of Honda CB Trigger and Bajaj Pulsar 150 in the Indian market. The Xtreme price starts from Rs. 67,364/- for the standard variant while the rear disc model is priced at Rs. 70,768/- (ex-showroom, Pune). The model is available in 5 body colors- black, red, silver, orange and blue across all Hero dealerships in the country.
