The next-generation Mahindra Scorpio has been in discussion since quite time now. The test mules have been spied for several times in different horizons of the country. And this time the interiors of new Scorpio got snapped again, courtesy of the Team-BHP. However, the interior in the images were mainly hidden but it reveals a lot about the updates that company is giving to the new Scorpio's cabin. As seen in the images, the new Scorpio interior looks distinctive to the outgoing model. Majorly, the dashboard has been given with new rectangular shaped AC vents, redesigned center console, poly-edged new instrument cluster and the new steering wheel with audio controls which is derived from the XUV500. However, the other interior elements are covered in the image but they will also get the slight revisions. The exterior also get a substantial makeover but are retained with its basic tall boy appeal. The new alloy wheels are also exposed on the test mule. Apart from the cosmetic changes, the new Scorpio is also expected to get some major upgrades for the powertrain.
The company has been testing the automatic transmission equipped Scorpio (in image above), while an other test mule was also spotted earlier on the toughest roads of Himachal region, hints that the company is likely to bring some crucial changes to the powertrain. The Scorpio is crowned with Mahindra's 'first SUV' title and no doubt the rugged style SUV has changed company's fotunes in India. Although, the ageing Scorpio seems arid in its segment but company still manages to sell around an average of 4500 cars each month! Though, company has not shared the launch details of next-generation Scorpio but we expect the new Scorpio to make its debut at the 2014 AutoExpo India.
