After unveiling it at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, French auto major Renault has now officialy revealed the Duster with the Renault badge. Inspired by the D-Cross concept by Renault, the refreshed Duster looks more-or-less like the facelift of its European sibling Dacia Duster.
Launched in 2012, the Renault Duster came like a storm and became a walk away success for the company, though the sales started dropping ever since the introduction of Ford EcoSport in India. So, it had become essential for Renault to update the product, though the car doesn't look outdated yet.
Dimensionally, 2014 Duster is all same, no changes have been made. Muscular body lines on side profile has been kept intact in the facelift. Integrated exhaust pipe in rear diffuser and refrsehed tail lamps are the changes given at the back. Front of the car is an area where most evident changes can be witnessed : new front grill, fresh dual-optical headlamps with day time running LED's, larger air-dams and under body cladding which leaves a sportier stance.
All new 16 inches bold alloys been the highlight of the exterior changes in the upcoming model. Other changes given to the car are all new instrument cluster, steering mounted audio controls, well equipped touch screen infortainment system, centre arm rest with storage module, tweaked dash layout, seat upholstry options and few others. Cabin and boot space in this successor remains unchanged.
The udpated Renault Duster will go through no mechanical change as well. It will continue to come in 1.5-litre 85PS diesel, 1.5-litre 110PS diesel and 1.6-litre 104PS petrol powertrains.
Though the company hasn't announced the launch date of the car, we are expeting it to be unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The launch might take place right after the Auto Expo.
