Czech Republic carmaker, Skoda that launched the new generation Octavia in late 2013, is now all set to launch the 2014 Superb facelift. After teasing the first pictures of the facelifted superb, few days back, the company arranged a media drive on 13th January. Now when the vehicle has already been revealed and given to the media for test drive, we are expecting it to be launched very soon, possibly at the Auto Expo or around that time.
The 2014 Skoda Superb has gone through some very positive exterior changes, which make it look sportier and sleeker than before. The updated version gets a new front fascia with new Skoda grille, logo, revised bumper, new Octavia-like bonnet, redesigned alloy wheels and revamped headlamps. The headlamps will now feature daytime running LEDs. Also, the tail lamps get a LED treatment. The rear profile too has gone through some noticeable changes, with registration plate moving to the boot-lid from the bumper. The boot has also been redesigned. Moreover, the vehicle has gone through some minor interior updates as well, making it look more up-market than before.
Other than the exterior and minor interior changes made to the car, Skoda might also tweak its 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine for better mileage and lower emissions. The tweaked diesel mill can return an impressive 21kmpl of mileage, as against current generation's 17.2kmpl. The petrol version of the car will continue to come in 1.8-litre TSI engine, which also powers the Octavia.
